HOME TOURS: NW3 INTERIORS

Todays home tour takes you around the stunning home of Carly Madhvani, founder of NW3 Interiors. Carly has assembled a spectacular collection of high-quality and luxurious furniture in her home – which doubles up as the showroom for NW3 Interiors. She opened up her house this October, where she showcased stunning collections, advising on the latest trends and how-to’s, and exhibiting designs from local, independent designers as well as the iconic brand Knoll. Her home is a great mix of colour, design icons with a touch of original craftsmanship.

The central hub of Carly's home, and my favourite room, is the large, light modern glass extension. The room alone with the vast expanse of glass and beautiful polished concrete floor is a great space on it's own from an architectural point of view. Carly has then added her own stamp on the space with the absolutely stunning feature wall, covered in an intricate hand painted wallpaper by Fromental, which has had some of the detail hand embroidered with silk thread. The hand-stitched chinoiserie silk wallpaper sits perfectly next to the modern lines of the Knoll Plantner lounge chair in the modern glass extension.

Carly is a Knoll dealer and on show in her home, along with many other design classics, was the new sofa system collection made in Italy by Knoll, designed by Piero Lissoni, called ‘Avio’. A design masterpiece which combines luxury and comfort with timeless design and hand-finished upholstery. Founded in 1938, Knoll produces furniture designed by some of the world’s most iconic furniture designers and not of just the 50’s like Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia, Florence Knoll and Eero Saarinen but also the pioneers of the modern design era. Avio reflects Lissoni’s minimalistic design style approach that pivots on both elegance and comfort.

The sofa design, based on extensive aesthetic research, enhances and redefines the use of any type of space in residential and contract environments. With a strong steel beam load-bearing structure, the seats, back and the table appear to be floating on an elegantly designed sleek framework. This sofa system remoulds the idea of the traditional upholstered furniture to versatile configurations of benches, sofas for two or three people, a chaise longue and table tops including surprising corner compositions.

I absolutely love the wallpaper Carly has chosen for her back wall, by Fromental. The soft pink colour way compliments the polished concrete floor beautifully.

In the bedroom she's mixed textural wall coverings, clean lines of the new design classic, Flos lights and velvet bed to create a truly unique space with a great balance of feminine and masculine details. The Flos IC table lights designed by Michael Anastassiades give the room such a lovely warm glow and the rug, from The Rug company, gives definition from the dark wood floor.

The bathroom with it's luxurious double jaccuzi bath and wonderful Bert Frank lights.

The Snug is the perfect place for her young teenage children to escape to or her husband to get some quiet space to hold meetings over the phone.

The lovely Carly!
