London Design Festival: Viaduct

It's September which means one thing, a hectic few weeks of showroom visits, product launches and shows. Squeezing them all in is always a struggle so it was good to start things slightly ahead of the busiest time. I kicked off London Design Festival with a bloggers tour of some fabulous show rooms showcasing their stunning products and launches.

During the the tour I visited Viaduct, where I met design guru Philipp Mainzer from e15 and the duo behind Child Studio. I then moved onto the beautifully designed Porcelain Gallery where I met the designer of the world's first modular tile, Stactile, and even got to make my own! Then we moved onto the Cosentino showroom where we were the first to see the launch of their new tile range, before heading to CTO Lighting to meet the very talented Michael Verheyden for the launch of his new collection for CTO Lighting. Finally we visited the new Jack Trench showroom and experienced their incredibly beautiful kitchens. We even got to taste some delicious food cooked by Miele's home economist using their steam oven, which was displayed in the show kitchen.

There were so many inspirational designs to see I have to break it down into individual posts so I don't overload you!

First stop was the Viaduct showroom in Farringdon. This beautiful showroom is set in a light filled open plan space with amazing large windows. The lighting by Giopato & Coombes were my favourite products on show, from the elegant but fun looking bubble like wall lights to the geometric jewel like lights. My favourite being the Circus suspension light, it is stunning! From an architectural point of view the Infinito wall and ceiling lights (not pictured) by Davide Groppi were fantastically simple.

Philipp Mainzer from e15 discussed his new design, the Kasimir Table with it's brushed brass minimal frame and oak top. this one was on show but it also comes in various finishes making it perfect for adapting in different spaces.

Take a look at all their wonderful pieces on show below including the fabulous sculptural lights by Child Studio. One of these would make such a great statement piece on a side board as they each look like works of art.
