Out and about: The Unruly Pig

February 17, 2017

I visited The Unruly Pig for a family lunch last weekend, after exploring the local Village Woodbridge and a country walk I hade built up quite the appetite!

The Unruly Pig is a 16th century Suffolk Inn. It has cosy log burners, original oak beams, sloping ceilings, Wi-Fi and an eclectic mixture of pop and local art – a traditional pub with a contemporary feel and ambience.

Located in Bromeswell, a 5 minutes drive from the historic market town of Woodbridge and just 4 minutes drive from Sutton Hoo (the National Trust’s awe inspiring Anglo–Saxon royal burial site).

We are featured in ‘5 of the best: Pubs with walks’ (The Financial Times). Rendlesham Forest and Sutton Heath are on our doorstep and the hauntingly beautiful, windswept coast at Shingle Street is nearby. It’s also cracking country for cyclists (and of course we have cycle racks). We are only 20 minutes drive from Orford Castle as well as the world famous concert venue at Snape Maltings. - The Unruly Pig

First impressions I loved the interiors. The simple panelled walls painted in bold blues and dark/ black blues give it a modern traditional feel with bright modern wall lights and made the mix of art really stand out.

The great thing about going in a big group is that you get to see a bigger variety of food (and try it!). I tried a bit of everything, except the Rabbit. All of the above was very tasty and I would have been happy had I ordered any of the above. After watching the Hairy Bikers the other week cooking Welsh Rarebit I thought I must give it a a try, so I had that for starters followed by the Roast Beef and Amaretto Cake.
